Therapy or Coaching. I love working with people who are in a transition of some kind and who really want to change what they have been experiencing day-to-day…whether it’s improving relationships, becoming more successful at work, learning how to have better relationships, considering a major change. Maybe you need help to be realistic about the degree of change you expect in yourself or others. Perhaps you need help realizing your dreams and support to follow your dream.
Relationships. Are you working to find a loving relationship or to evaluate one you’ve got? Do you need to clarifying whether to build a stronger relationship or to gracefully leave one that’s not healthy or to accept that one has ended. Some of our work together may involve learning communication or assertiveness skills, coping strategically with transitions, coping emotionally with disappointment, problem-solving crises, deepening insight about your strengths and weaknesses in this important area of life and understanding and setting boundaries.
Non-romantic Relationships. It is important to note that my strengths and skills are in helping people cope with and communicate in all relationships. Maybe you are struggling with a friend, co-worker, parental or family member relationship. This can often be just as painful or painful in other ways than romantic relationships. The things mentioned above in “Relationships” are areas that I help people with in any type of relationship.
Conflict Resolution. Two people needn't be a "couple" to come in for a joint session. You may have conflict with a friend, colleague, sibling or neighbor you'd like to iron out. Having someone with an outside perspective and training in relationship dynamics and conflict resolution skills to direct this process can be far more fruitful than going managing conflict alone and without the right boundaries.
Managing Procrastination, Frustration, and Perfectionism. It's important to keep these things in check, so we don't let what's really important to us fall between the cracks. I can help you prevent moderate annoyances from becoming bigger problems, like irritability, agitation, tendency to procrastination or perfectionism. Let's figure it out.
Sexuality. Are you having a hard time knowing how to communicate with your partner regarding your sexual relationship and activity? You are not alone in this challenge. Unfortunately society has not provided healthy expectations and examples. Perhaps you don’t feel comfortable with physical touch. Do you find it hard to communicate about sex about what you like and don’t like? Do you feel you are being or have been mistreated sexually. It’s all important to discuss and I can help you work on these things in a mature, safe, and insightful place
Work Place Challenges/ Career Planning. We devote a huge amount of time and energy to whatever it is we do for a living, so it is a big deal when you find that you are unhappy with office politics or feel you are in the wrong field. Dedicating time to discussing your purpose in life and where you fit in work world can have real benefit to your mental health and wellbeing. It is not just about complaining, but about being proactive.
